  • Start packing as soon as possible to avoid last minute stress
  • Gather your last bills, so important information like account numbers and telephone numbers are readily available when its time to change your utilities, credit cards, magazine subscriptions, etc.
  • Recommended Moving Supplies:
    • various size boxes
    • cardboard (for double stacking small items in a box)
    • plastic sheets/tarp (In case of rain)
    • blankets (protects larger items from scratching each other)
    • padding/bubble wrap
    • newspaper/wrapping paper
    • box/shipping tape
    • scissors/pocket knife
    • small tool kit
    • sandwich bags (to hold appliance/furniture hardware)
    • gloves (Protects smashed fingers!)
  • Tips for Moving Electronics Equipment:
    • Use original shipping boxes if possible
    • Immobilize moving parts (this is especially important on hard drives and scanners)
    • Color code or label detachable cables and wire for easier reinstallation
